Flu Season Alert

posted Oct 3, 2014, 9:24 AM by Alice Hsu

Dear CHCLCS families,

As we enter the cold and flu season. CHCLCS would like to take this opportunity to reinforce some important facts on preventing our children and ourselves from becoming ill this flu season. If a student shows any signs of illness, teachers have the right to send him/her to the admin staff to avoid exposing others.

  1. The most important act of illness prevention is in frequently washing hands and using hand sanitizer. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Keep surfaces cleaned as well.

  2. Keep children at home when they are sick and especially if they have a fever, a runny nose or are coughing.

  3. Consider getting a flu shot/ mist for yourselves and children.

  4. Take care of yourselves and get plenty of rest.

What You Should Know for the 2014-2015 Influenza Season

"You are most contagious from the day before your symptoms begin, through the period of prominent symptoms. Symptoms usually last a week, but coughing can persist for 3 to 4 weeks. You should go home if possible to avoid exposing others. "

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
